Labor in Bricks
Brick Wall, Packaged Brick, Ladder, Clay Soil
Through the convenience and simplicity of brick construction, bricks are able to transcend through time pretty well. However, the drawback of the simplicity is that it creates the possibility of unjust labor such as child labor and slavery. We have allowed this to happen due to the lack of oversight and poor regulation of the industry.
The following image represents the situation within the manufacturing location of bricks. It is depicted in a dark environment to create a sense of tiredness in the labor process. The photograph hanged in the wall depicts an abstract of the labor uses of bricks that we might not have thought about in relation to the brick life cycle.
